We join culture and nature to make you live a unique experience in La Garrotxa. In the morning you will enjoy a hot air balloon ride over the volcanic area of la Garrotxa. A natural area that with more than 40 volcanoes. In the afternoon you will discover the world of the circus. The museum teaches us 250 years of history of circus disciplines such as acrobatics, magic, juggling or trapeze.

BALLOON FLIGHT

The next day a spectacular activity awaits you! Ride in a hot-air balloon and enjoy the landscape of La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.

Once at Vol de Coloms facilities, between 6:30 a.m and 8 a.m (according to the season), have a cup of coffee and some pastry as you participate in the preparation of the flight: the setting and inflation of the hot-air balloon.

All our baskets have a door so, they are accessible to all kind of public.

The balloon flight  lasts about 1h 30 min and we enjoy a glass of cava and a slice of a savoury local cake, coca de llardons, as we contemplate the wonderful 360º view from the balloon.

Once back on solid ground, our ground team, who have been following our flight, pick us up in a 4×4 vehicle and take us to enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast of bread and tomato, Santa Pau haricot beans and botifarra a catalan national dish, desserts from Cooperativa la Fageda, wine and ratafia, a local herbal liquor.

Finally, we give you a flight diploma signed by the pilot.

VISIT CIRCUSLAND

After breakfast, you will have some time to rest, before heading to Besalú. This medieval town, about 20 minutes by car from Vol de coloms, is where the circus museum is located. Circusland is in the center of the village in a monastery founded in 977.

The building houses collections of thousands of pieces that cover 250 years of circus history: engravings, costumes, posters, photographs, stamps, postcards, artists' material, autographs, books, programs, porcelain, sculptures...

The most emblematic pieces include the largest miniature circus in the world, the archive of large format posters from the beginning of the 20th century, a collection of circus philately, old engravings, a library with more than four thousand copies, the costumes of famous artists, the press archive and photography of famous authors.

A heritage close to home, unique in the world. This communion between nature and circus culture will make us enjoy a very complete day. Young and old alike can enjoy La Garrotxa from two very different sides.
